Black Fungus Infection
Fungal infection in the nails is fairly common but the black fungus infection does not occur as frequently. It is an extremely advanced stage of nail infection and is characterized by the black coloration underneath the fingernails or toenails. The nails are also thickened and there is severe pain in the fingertips. Black fungus infection is contracted through touching decaying plants or infected garden soil. To avoid getting the disease, you should wear garden gloves at all times and keep your nails trim and clean. Black fungus infection is certainly an advanced stage infection. At this advanced stage of infection one can notice thick nail, deformed nail, flaking of the nail etc. In more severe cases one can see peeling of the skin that is near the finger nail. One can also experience severe pain at the finger tip.
The black fungus infection can be avoided easily, provided if you are careful. Most common way of picking the black fungus infection is by touching the infected soil in the garden or decaying vegetation bare handed. Wearing the gloves while working in the garden will certainly avoid this entry route.
Besides wearing gloves while at garden work, cleaning the finger nail frequently, trimming the nail, and keeping the nail dry all that will help to prevent the black fungus infection.
While working at the garden one has to be careful in not hurting the finger, especially near the fingernail. Incase if there is any injury he need to attend to it immediately as the black fungus can gain entry through these cuts and wounds quite easily.
People can get black fungus infection from other person through contact. Public places like swimming pools, public bath stalls can also be the source of infection. The pedicure and manicure centers can also spread the black fungus infection if they are using improperly sterilized equipments.
