Ever since I had kids (3 yr old and 5 month old) I pretty much make them a priority and do the necessities for myself, eat, shower, and so on. So, I’ve had this toe nail problem for quite sometime, I would say at least a year…my right foot has a couple toe nails (the big toe, and the one beside it) that are really thick and yellowish in color, and when I trim them, they are flaky and have a bad odor…I know, this is REALLY gross, but anyway, as long as it wasn’t affecting my kids, I just dealt with it, but I was just clipping my daughters toe nails and I noticed that one of her big toe nails looked a little thick and now I’m really nervous! I didn’t think a foot fungus was contagious, but I’m thinking she might have whatever I have…any solutions for this? I will go to the doc if needed, but I don’t want to be on any type of antibiotics because I’m breastfeeding my 5 month old…by the way, my toes don’t hurt at all…I just thought my right foot was on the ugly side, lol.

I have noticed for quite some time now that my nail bed is becoming thicker and thicker. Every time I clip my toe nail I try to go deeper so that the nail grows nicely, however it grows really thick. I don’t know what to do. I thought clipping it deeper would make it grow smooth however the fugus I suppose has gotten inside and now its hard to clip my toe nail. Any suggestions as how to get rid of the nail fugus imbedded inside the nail? Thank you.

My left big toe is lightly yellow and at the bottom it looks like the nail is trying to grow off. Like…I see a nice lightly pink nail underneath…so the top nail with the fungus might be growing off…

I’m not sure if this is the case…but I’d like to know. I’m fairly certain it is from not taking off the polish for a LONG time and so the nail couldn’t breathe…and therefore got a light case of a fungus…

What are some remedies I could do to get it to go away? I will need to paint my toes to wear certain shoes, but will be removing it promptly to let it breathe and get rid of it.

Should, I let my tow just keep growing? Or try some at home remedies or OTC cream?

I’ve tried several anti-fungal things, but none of them really seemed to help all that much. is it true that vinegar can help get rid of fungus’s? Are there any other home remedies or essential oils, or any other things that would help, yet at a reasonable price? please please please help I’m so tired of it!

Okay…after reading and reading and reading….Antiseptics aid in ridding nail fungus.Generally, home remedies consist of vinegar, vapor rub, peroxide, etc. etc. blah blah blah then you put a bandaid on it to either cover it up, or keep the “treatment” on the nail longer. With that said, there is that little product called linquid band aid or “new skin”. It is an antiseptic. If the home remedies such as listerine and tea tree oil (antiseptics) are so good, why can’t you use liquid band aid (antiseptic) once daily to treat and STAY on the nail?? Your thoughts?
