Hi. So my younger brother had an ingrown toe nail about 3 years ago. We took him to the doctors and they removed the whole nail. Long story short, it never grew back nicely. It doesnt look like a regular nail, it grew back thin, thick and long. My mom has a hard time trying to cut it because its thick. I was wondering if there is any home remedy or any medicine we can get ? And does it look like its a fungus or something else? i dont really know what to tell my mom about it..

Ever since I had kids (3 yr old and 5 month old) I pretty much make them a priority and do the necessities for myself, eat, shower, and so on. So, I’ve had this toe nail problem for quite sometime, I would say at least a year…my right foot has a couple toe nails (the big toe, and the one beside it) that are really thick and yellowish in color, and when I trim them, they are flaky and have a bad odor…I know, this is REALLY gross, but anyway, as long as it wasn’t affecting my kids, I just dealt with it, but I was just clipping my daughters toe nails and I noticed that one of her big toe nails looked a little thick and now I’m really nervous! I didn’t think a foot fungus was contagious, but I’m thinking she might have whatever I have…any solutions for this? I will go to the doc if needed, but I don’t want to be on any type of antibiotics because I’m breastfeeding my 5 month old…by the way, my toes don’t hurt at all…I just thought my right foot was on the ugly side, lol.

my poor dog has been battling a nail fungus problem. i first didnt notice it on his back feet cause there was no visible signs other than his paws were kind of swollen looking but i thought that it was normal. then one day i accidentally stepped on his poor foot and blood and puss came running out. i first took him to the humane society and they said they didnt have treatment for him but a topical spray and that my dog probly got it from licking his paws (which i have seen him do) because he was bored and suggested i put him on anti depressents. so i took him to my regular vet who gave me meds and him a shot. it seemed to go away and then came back. i have taken him back 3 times but hasnt fully worked and was getting expensive. are there any home remedies i may try to help cure it.??? my poor dogs feet have had enough and im willing to try almost anything. has anyone else had a problem like this? what have you tried? did it work and how long? thanks guys!!

I have noticed for quite some time now that my nail bed is becoming thicker and thicker. Every time I clip my toe nail I try to go deeper so that the nail grows nicely, however it grows really thick. I don’t know what to do. I thought clipping it deeper would make it grow smooth however the fugus I suppose has gotten inside and now its hard to clip my toe nail. Any suggestions as how to get rid of the nail fugus imbedded inside the nail? Thank you.

I’m not sure if this is the case…but I’d like to know. I’m fairly certain it is from not taking off the polish for a LONG time and so the nail couldn’t breathe…and therefore got a light case of a fungus…

What are some remedies I could do to get it to go away? I will need to paint my toes to wear certain shoes, but will be removing it promptly to let it breathe and get rid of it.

Should, I let my tow just keep growing? Or try some at home remedies or OTC cream?
