I’ve been using a home remedy for toenail fungus?
dozerregan asked:
I was told listerine works great so I have been trying it. Sometimes it turns my nails whitish and sticky though. Anyone know why this may be?

The fungus isn’t too bad, but I’ve tried everything to get rid of it so that’s why I went to this. Any advice?

Use Tea Tree essential oil. It works really well. Just only use a couple drops on each foot once a day. It won’t be sticky like the listerine.
LISTERINE, fresh breath, fresh feet, lol. But seriously I have the same problem and my GF just bought some tea tree oil because we read in some researching that this will help the problem. I just started using so I will let you know if it works. Before that I just rubbed rubbing alcohol on my feet and toes after showering. That has helped also.
Dry your toes with an hair dryer after applying….it should help with any stickiness if this is down to moisture remaining on the nail and surrounding skin. Fungus loves moisture also so it is important to keep the nails dry. In summer wear sandals as sunlight on your toenails will also aid fungus removal.
You could also take grapefruit seed extract internally or oil of oregano to further help removal of the fungus. And adding one drop of oil of oregano or grapefruit seed extract to the listerine will help boost removal of the fungus.
Best wishes.
if you don’t have any tea tree oil, white vinegar will work well, too.
Wear appropriate socks. Synthetic socks that wick away moisture may keep your feet dryer than do cotton or wool socks (you can also wear synthetic socks underneath other socks). Change them often, especially if your feet sweat excessively. Take your shoes off occasionally during the day and after exercise. Alternate closed-toe shoes with open-toed shoes. I had the same problem and tried many different things that did not work, then I came across the Acai berry and I have had very good results. Taking Acai may or may not work for you, it certainly did for me. In addition to Acai, I take a vitamin E capsule, break it open and put it on the areas where I have the fungus and usually in about 24 to 48 hours I see results.
